Context
A week after its Sphere debut, Metallica returns to the Las Vegas stage on October 8, 2026. The Life Burns Faster residency keeps its no-repeat weekend rule: this Thursday and the following Saturday form two shows with no songs in common.
Battery and Creeping Death open the show. Fade to Black appears for the first time in the residency, while Orion receives a dedication to Cliff Burton. Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo share a duet featuring Motown Yo Town and Suicide & Redemption. Yellow and black projections accompany the band during Lux Æterna.
The residency continues into 2027, but professional recordings of individual songs from this night are already circulating. Fade to Black and Lux Æterna are among the performances released by the band in October. The audience recording preserves the entire sequence, from the opening attack of Battery to the closing Master of Puppets.
- Orion is dedicated to Cliff Burton, and a fan takes part in the opening of Seek & Destroy.
