Context
The sun is still beating down on Catton Park when Castle Rat makes its Bloodstock debut on August 9, 2026. The band reaches the Ronnie James Dio stage on the festival's 25th anniversary. The Bestiary, released the year before, already expands the medieval universe introduced on Into the Realm.
Riley Pinkerton plays the Rat Queen on vocals and guitar, surrounded by The Count, The Plague Doctor and The Druid. Dagger Dragger opens the way; Wizard and Wolf I bring in the creatures of the second album. The staging includes a sword fight against the Rat Reaperess, without separating the story from the riffs.
After Bloodstock, the itinerary moves on to Southampton and other European festivals. In September, the Summon The Beasts North American tour begins. The show is released in full in October, preserved by the festival's professional footage. What remains is the portrait of a band taking its club mythology to the main stage, still in the afternoon light.
- The Rat Queen takes on the Rat Reaperess in a sword fight.
