Context
Before reaching Espaço Tom Jobim, the collaboration had already been taking shape onstage. Silvia Machete developed the show while promoting Souvenir, released in 2014, which included a composition by Eduardo Dussek. Their affinity takes on a structure of its own here, woven through with theater, humor, and song.
On the Rio stage in 2016, Silvia sings Chocante, A Índia e o Traficante, and Aventura, but leaves room for other songwriters. Back to Black and Tango da Bronquite share space with compositions by the evening's honoree. Dussek introduces the singer and returns to the piano for the final two numbers, including the then-unreleased Anjo da Cena.
The collaboration comes to DVD in 2017 through a partnership between Canal Brasil and Biscoito Fino. The release preserves a show with stage direction by Cesar Augusto and costumes by Guto Carvalho Neto. The run continues after the recording and reaches Casa de Francisca in São Paulo in 2018: the tribute remains on the road.
- Anjo da Cena is still unreleased when it is recorded here, accompanied by its composer.
