Context
On Thursday, August 8, 2019, Bloodstock still has three days ahead when Rotting Christ takes the closing slot on the Sophie Lancaster Stage. The Heretics had arrived in February. The Greek band brings new material but leaves room for different decades of its history.
Hallowed Be Thy Name opens the show; Fire, God and Fear and Dies Irae round out the recent album's presence. Sakis Tolis leads on vocals and guitar, with Themis on drums. The set reaches back to The Forest of N'Gai and passes through King of a Stellar War before arriving at the encore.
Gloria de Domino Inferni begins the return to the stage, followed by The Sign of Evil Existence and Non Serviam. The festival continues through Sunday, while the performance receives a full-length video release in September. The recording preserves this meeting between the campaign for The Heretics and the repertoire that precedes it.
- The encore brings together Gloria de Domino Inferni, The Sign of Evil Existence and Non Serviam.
