Context
The final night of Bloodstock 2018 ends under the Sophie Lancaster Stage tent. On August 12, Watain takes on the festival's closing slot in Walton-on-Trent. Trident Wolf Eclipse had arrived in January, and four of its songs enter a set spanning the band's first six albums.
Flames fill the stage as Erik Danielsson leads the ritual. Nuclear Alchemy and Furor Diabolicus bring the recent material; Malfeitor and Outlaw meet a crowd singing along. Danielsson keeps his arm close to the fire, making physical risk part of the staging. Waters of Ain closes the ten-song sequence.
After Bloodstock, the schedule continues to Midgardsblot in Norway, still in August. The full recording of this night begins circulating in May 2019, preserving the festival's closing set. More than a selection from the recent album, the show brings different phases of Watain together in a single space of fire and confrontation.
- Waters of Ain closes a set spanning the first six albums.
