Context
On November 30, 2006, Sala Cecília Meireles hosts a tribute with the composer in attendance. Mauro Senise celebrates 35 years in music and brings the repertoire of Casa Forte, his album dedicated to Edu Lobo, to the stage. Alongside familiar songs, Arpoador and Valsa Carioca arrive as new pieces from that project.
Senise carries the melodies on saxophone and flute. Paulo Russo, Ivan Conti and Itamar Assiére form the rhythm section, while Gilson Peranzzetta provides the arrangements and joins on piano. Jota Moraes, David Chew and Orquestra dos Sonhos expand the lineup. At the end, Edu Lobo sings Canção do Amanhecer, co-written with Vinicius de Moraes.
The evening also marks a shift in format: the CD launch becomes Senise's first DVD. Directed by Marcos Souza, the recording is released in 2007 by Biscoito Fino. The tribute takes visual form, preserving the meeting between the instrumentalist and the composer of all thirteen pieces.
- Edu Lobo sings Canção do Amanhecer to close the show.
