Context
On the afternoon of August 9, 2025, Kublai Khan TX takes the stage at Bloodstock for the first time. The Ronnie James Dio stage hosts the Texas quartet between Creeper and Fear Factory. Exhibition of Prowess, released the previous year, supplies six of the fourteen songs in a set lasting just over forty minutes.
Supreme Ruler leads into Theory of Mind and Low Tech. Matt Honeycutt goads the crowd and calls for movement; before him comes a succession of crowd surfers and a wall of death. The force lies in the slow riffs and breakdowns, without much departure from that approach. The Hammer sets up the final stretch, which closes with Antpile and Antpile 2 in succession.
The debut also finds the band following a change: Nicholas Adams takes over on guitar after Nolan Ashley's departure, announced in April. In October, the full performance is released as a multicamera festival recording, with audio mixed by Tavish Cross. The recording preserves the meeting of the quartet's metallic hardcore and the scale of the main stage.
