The O'Jays

The group emerged in Canton, Ohio, in the late 1950s, initially as The Triumphs, and adopted the name The O'Jays in reference to radio host Eddie O'Jay. After years of recording and lineup changes, it settled with Eddie Levert, Walter Williams and William Powell. On Philadelphia International, it released albums such as Back Stabbers and Ship Ahoy, which included hits such as “Love Train” and “For the Love of Money”.
