Só Pra Contrariar was formed in Uberlândia in 1989 and began its career playing dances. The first album arrived in 1993, with “A barata” and “Que se chama amor”; the following record, O samba não tem fronteiras, widened the group’s reach.
In 1997, “Depois do prazer” became one of its biggest hits. Alexandre Pires left the group at the end of the decade to go solo, and the original lineup has reunited for projects and tours.
