Sade

Sade emerged in London in 1982, when singer Helen Folasade Adu and musicians Stuart Matthewman, Andrew Hale and Paul Denman left the group Pride. The debut album, Diamond Life, came out in 1984 and featured “Smooth Operator”; Promise, from 1985, cemented the band. After Love Deluxe, in 1992, the group took long breaks between albums: Lovers Rock arrived in 2000 and Soldier of Love in 2010.
