Queen + Paul Rodgers was a risky bet: Queen's elastic pomp meeting the direct blues-rock of the Free and Bad Company singer. The Cosmos Rocks doesn't try to sound like Freddie Mercury, and for that reason it sometimes feels like a different animal wearing a famous skin.

The project divided fans, but its value lies precisely in the friction: May and Taylor looking for a future, Rodgers bringing dirt, lungs and road.
