Loathe emerged in Liverpool, England, in 2014, from musicians connected to the local group Our Imbalance. After the EP Prepare Consume Proceed, it released The Cold Sun, its first album, in 2017. I Let It In and It Took Everything, from 2020, widened the group’s reach by combining metalcore with atmospheric passages.
In 2021, the band released the instrumental record The Things They Believe and, after a long gap, returned with A Stranger to You in 2026.
