Jessi Colter

Jessi Colter was born Mirriam Johnson in Phoenix and started out in music as a pianist at her family’s church. After recording and touring with Duane Eddy, she resumed her country career in 1970, now under the stage name she would keep.

“I’m Not Lisa”, from 1975, topped the country chart and entered the pop Top 5. The following year, she appeared on Wanted! The Outlaws, a collaborative album with Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Tompall Glaser.
