The trio Gilsons began in 2018, bringing together José Gil, João Gil and Francisco Gil, son and grandsons of Gilberto Gil. It won an audience with “Várias Queixas”, a reworking of the Olodum hit, and other tracks released before its first album, Pra Gente Acordar, from 2022. The record consolidated the project, which took its mix of MPB references and Afro-Bahian rhythms to new stages. The group remains active.
