Yamandu Costa

Yamandu Costa was born into a family of musicians in Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul, and began performing as a child. A guitarist and composer, he combines choro, regional music from southern Brazil and other Brazilian and Latin American rhythms in his repertoire.

Winning Prêmio Visa Instrumental at age 21 paved the way for his first solo album. Since then, he has recorded dozens of albums, both on his own and in collaboration with artists such as Dominguinhos, Toquinho and Hamilton de Holanda.
