Born in Champaign, Illinois, Viktor Krauss studied music at the University of Illinois and began working as a bassist in Nashville. He played with Lyle Lovett and appeared on recordings by Bill Frisell, Alison Krauss and Jerry Douglas, among others.
In 2004, he released Far from Enough, his first solo record, with guest appearances by Bill Frisell, Jerry Douglas, Steve Jordan and Alison Krauss. He also produced records by singer Jason White.
