Ventre formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2012 with Gabriel Ventura, Hugo Noguchi and Larissa Conforto. The trio released its debut album, Ventre, in 2015, and the following year recorded the show Ao Vivo no Méier on DVD.

The band announced a hiatus in 2018, after a run centered on live shows and the self-titled record. Later, Gabriel Ventura pursued a solo career, keeping part of the repertoire tied to the group's history.
