Tracy Chapman

Tracy Chapman was born in Cleveland and began writing songs at a young age, before studying at Tufts University and playing small venues in the Boston area. Her debut album, Tracy Chapman, arrived in 1988 and brought together “Fast Car” and “Talkin’ ’bout a Revolution”, taking her music to an international audience.

New Beginning, from 1995, featured “Give Me One Reason”, another of her hits. Chapman kept recording, although she reduced her public appearances.
