Tony Kakko

Tony Kakko was born in Kemi, Finland, and joined Sonata Arctica in 1996, initially playing keyboards and singing. With the band, he released Ecliptica (1999), which introduced its melodic power metal, and records such as Silence and Reckoning Night. After a new keyboardist joined, Kakko focused on vocals and songwriting. He still leads the group, which released Clear Cold Beyond in 2024.
