The Soul Survivors

The group was born in New York in the early 1960s as The Dedications, before taking the name Soul Survivors. Brothers Richie and Charlie Ingui and Kenny Jeremiah hit it big in 1967 with “Expressway to Your Heart”, written by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff and released by Crimson Records. The self-titled album came the same year. After a break, the group returned in 1972 with another lineup.
