The Red Devils emerged in Los Angeles in 1988, from musicians connected to The Blasters and from weekly jams at the King King club. Led by singer and harmonica player Lester Butler, the group played blues and built an audience through that residency.
In 1992, it released King King, recorded live at the club. The band split up in 1994, after internal conflicts and the departure of members; Butler died in 1998.
