The Delfonics

The trio began in Philadelphia in 1965, with William Hart, his brother Wilbert Hart and Randy Cain. With Thom Bell’s arrangements and William’s high voice, it scored with “La-La (Means I Love You)” and “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time)”, on records that helped define the city’s sound. After Cain left in 1971, different lineups kept the name and continued to perform.
