Skank

Skank formed in Belo Horizonte in 1991 with Samuel Rosa, Henrique Portugal, Lelo Zaneti and Haroldo Ferretti. The band started with Jamaican influences and gained national recognition with 1994's Calango, driven by Jackie Tequila and Te Ver.

O Samba Poconé expanded the group's reach in 1996, while later albums brought more melodic songs. In 2019, the band announced its breakup; the farewell tour ended in 2023, after a career spanning nearly three decades.
