Royal Republic formed in Malmö, Sweden, in 2007, while its members were studying at the city's music academy. The band debuted with 2010's We Are the Royal, which includes the singles Tommy-Gun and Full Steam Spacemachine, and followed it with Save the Nation. On 2016's Weekend Man and 2019's Club Majesty, it incorporated disco influences into its rock sound. LoveCop was released in 2024.
