Ramblin' Jack Elliott

Ramblin' Jack Elliott was born Elliott Charles Adnopoz in Brooklyn, New York. As a young man, he left home to follow music and grew close to Woody Guthrie, from whom he learned repertoire and ways of playing.

He recorded albums of traditional songs and Guthrie songs from the 1950s on, and his life on the road influenced other folk artists. The documentary The Ballad of Ramblin' Jack, released in 2000, introduced his story to new audiences.
