Possessed

Possessed formed in 1983 in the San Francisco Bay Area and helped define death metal with Seven Churches in 1985, followed by Beyond the Gates in 1986. After the EP The Eyes of Horror, the band disbanded in 1987. Jeff Becerra revived the name in 2007, and the group released Revelations of Oblivion, their first album in more than three decades, in 2019.
