Paraná

José Cláudio Gomes, known as Paraná, was born in Ivaiporã and began singing as a child alongside his brother Chico Rey, accompanying their father, a serenade singer. The two established themselves professionally in Brasília and released their first regional LP in 1980.

The duo Chico Rey & Paraná gained recognition with Operário, Vida, Viola, released after they signed with Continental. After Chico Rey's death in 2016, Paraná continued his career and kept the partnership's repertoire.
