Padre Antônio Maria

Antônio Moreira Borges was born in Magalhães Bastos, Rio de Janeiro, and sang from a young age on radio shows, at school and in catechism. Once ordained a priest, he made music part of his religious work and built a career as a singer of Catholic songs.

He recorded albums such as Esperança and Mais perto, hosted programs on TV Aparecida and shared stages with names from Brazilian music. His path also includes writing and performing repertoire devoted to Marian devotion.
