Opeth

Opeth formed in Stockholm in 1990, initially rooted in Swedish death metal. With Mikael Åkerfeldt at the helm, the band incorporated progressive structures and acoustic passages on albums such as Still Life and Blackwater Park, which broadened its reach in the early 2000s. In 2011, Heritage marked a phase without growled vocals and closer to progressive rock. The band remained active and released The Last Will and Testament in 2024.
