Olívia Byington was born in Rio de Janeiro and began her career at a young age, singing jingles. In 1978, she released Corra o Risco, her first album, recorded with contributions from Barca do Sol; the following year, the song Lady Jane gained prominence on the radio.
She followed with albums such as Anjo Vadio and Música. On A Dama do Encantado, released in 1997, she paid tribute to Aracy de Almeida, and in 2003 she revisited the repertoire of Canção do Amor Demais, associated with Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes.
