MPB4

MPB4 formed in Niterói, with ties to the Centro Popular de Cultura at Universidade Federal Fluminense, and adopted the name in 1964. The quartet gained national recognition in 1967 accompanying Chico Buarque on Roda Viva at the TV Record festival.

It recorded albums of its own repertoire and songs by composers such as Chico Buarque and Milton Nascimento. After Magro's death in 2012, the group continued with a new lineup and released O sonho, a vida, a roda viva! in 2016.
