Monica

Born and raised in Atlanta, Monica signed a deal as a teenager and released Miss Thang in 1995. The album introduced “Don’t Take It Personal” and “Before You Walk Out of My Life”, which reached the top of the R&B charts.

The Boy Is Mine, from 1998, marked another successful stage, driven by the title duet with Brandy. After albums such as After the Storm and Still Standing, Monica kept recording and performing, as well as working in television and on her own projects.
