Miami Sound Machine emerged in Miami in 1975 as the Miami Latin Boys, a group created by Emilio Estefan. With Gloria Estefan on board, it took the name it became known by and released Spanish-language records before reaching a wider audience with Eyes of Innocence in 1984.
Primitive Love brought “Conga” and “Bad Boy”; on Let It Loose, from 1987, Gloria’s name moved to the front. From 1989 on, releases came out as Gloria Estefan solo records.
