Máirtín O'Connor

Máirtín O'Connor was born in 1955 in Barna and grew up in Mervue, near the city of Galway. He started playing accordion at nine and, in 1976, joined the group Midnight Well. Over his career, he was part of groups such as De Dannan and The Boys of the Lough, while also releasing solo albums and composing for theater and film.

He also recorded and toured for more than a decade with Cathal Hayden, Seamie O'Dowd and Jimmy Higgins.
