Mad Season

Mad Season was grunge’s beauty staring into the abyss without the shield of irony. Mike McCready, Layne Staley, Barrett Martin and John Baker Saunders recorded Above like someone leaving a note in a dark room: blues, hard rock and confession in slow motion. The band did not last long, but it condensed an entire scene at the moment when talent, addiction and mortality could no longer be separated.
