Macabre

Macabre formed in 1985 in the Chicago area and kept its original trio lineup throughout its career. The band called its style murder metal and built songs around real killers, mixing elements of death metal, punk, and other styles. After Gloom and Sinister Slaughter, it released Dahmer, a 2000 concept album about Jeffrey Dahmer. Murder Metal, Grim Scary Tales, and Carnival of Killers, released in 2020, followed.
