Born in Los Angeles, the daughter of Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli, Liza Minnelli built a career spanning music, film and theater. She made her Broadway debut in Flora the Red Menace in 1965 and rose to prominence in film with Cabaret, which earned her an Oscar.

The TV special Liza with a Z and the live album Live at Carnegie Hall captured her presence on stage. Over the decades, she kept performing and taking part in productions, although health problems reduced her public appearances.
