A native of Rio, Jorge Aragão began writing and singing professionally in the 1970s and was part of the group Fundo de Quintal, tied to Cacique de Ramos. He released his first solo record in 1981 and cemented his career with later albums, as well as songs recorded by performers such as Beth Carvalho and Zeca Pagodinho.
His repertoire includes “Malandro”, “Coisinha do Pai” and “Vou Festejar”, songs that have crossed different generations of samba.
