Jimmy LaFave

Jimmy LaFave was born in Wills Point, Texas, and grew up listening to country and rock before moving to Stillwater, Oklahoma. It was in that region that he began writing and performing, drawing close to the scene that became known as Red Dirt. After forming the band Night Tribe, he settled in Austin and released albums such as Highway Trance and Texoma. LaFave died of cancer in 2017, at 61.
