Ivete Sangalo

Ivete Sangalo was born in Juazeiro, Bahia, and rose to national prominence as the lead singer of Banda Eva, starting in 1993. In 1999, she left the group and launched her solo career with the album Ivete Sangalo.

The live releases MTV Ao Vivo, from 2004, and Ivete no Maracanã, from 2007, marked this phase and broadened her repertoire beyond axé, with songs such as Se Eu Não Te Amasse Tanto Assim and Festa.
