Giovanni Antonini

Born in Milan, Giovanni Antonini studied music in his hometown and in Geneva. In 1985, he co-founded the baroque ensemble Il Giardino Armonico, which he went on to direct and with which he recorded works by Vivaldi and 16th- and 17th-century repertoire.

He also works as a guest conductor of orchestras and operas. Since 2014, he has led the Haydn2032 project, which plans to record and perform all of Joseph Haydn’s symphonies by 2032.
