Garth Brooks

Garth Brooks was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and released his debut album, Garth Brooks, in 1989. The following year, No Fences widened his reach with songs such as “The Dance” and “Friends in Low Places”.

Ropin’ the Wind reached number one on the overall US album chart in 1991, a rare feat for a country record. Brooks announced a break from touring in 2000 to focus on his family and returned to the stage in 2009.
