Everson Moraes

Born in Cordeiro, in Rio de Janeiro state, Everson Moraes began his musical studies at Sociedade Musical Fraternidade Cordeirense. A trombonist trained at Unirio, he is a member of the choro group Os Matutos, founded in 2001, and researches scores from farms and century-old bands in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro state.

In 2013, he began studying and reviving the practice of playing the ophicleide, an instrument he recorded on Irineu de Almeida e o Oficleide - 100 Anos Depois, released in 2015.
