Eumir Deodato

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Eumir Deodato began as a pianist and arranger on the bossa nova scene and moved to New York in 1967. He worked with Luiz Bonfá and went on to record and produce for Brazilian and American artists. In 1973, Prelude took his version of Also Sprach Zarathustra into the charts and earned him a Grammy. He continued working as a composer, keyboardist, arranger and producer.
