Ed Carlos

Oscar Teixeira was born in Santo André and adopted the name Ed Carlos as a teenager, with the support of Roberto Carlos, his musical mentor. He released his first single through Fermata in 1967 and reached the charts with Estou Feliz.

His debut LP came out in 1968, and he began hosting Mini-Guarda on TV Bandeirantes. He recorded more albums in the 1970s; in 1979, he released Roberto, Meu Amigão, a tribute to his mentor.
