DI-RECT started in The Hague in 1999 with Tim Akkerman, Frans “Spike” van Zoest, Bas van Wageningen and Jamie Westland. The debut album, Discover, came out in 2001 and featured songs such as “Just the Way I Do” and “Inside My Head”. In 2009, Akkerman left the band and Marcel Veenendaal took over vocals. With him, DI-RECT released This Is Who We Are and kept recording and performing.
