Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg

The Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg has its roots in the UFA-Sinfonieorchester, created in 1918 in Babelsberg to record film music. After the DEFA studios were dissolved, its musicians went through the Potsdam Philharmonic; in 1993, the ensemble took its current form, bringing together the DEFA-Sinfonieorchester and the Radio Berlin Tanzorchester.

Besides its soundtrack work, it took part in the Ost-Rock Klassik project and recorded with artists such as Rammstein, Silbermond and Peter Fox.
