Culture emerged in Jamaica in 1976 as a vocal trio led by Joseph Hill, alongside Albert Walker and Kenneth Dayes. The group rose to prominence with Two Sevens Clash, a 1977 album whose title track left its mark on roots reggae and reached British audiences.
After lineup changes and a period apart, Hill kept the band going. After his death in 2006, his son Kenyatta took over vocals and Culture kept performing.
