Coldplay

Coldplay formed in London in 1997, when Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion were studying at University College London. Parachutes, from 2000, broke the band with “Yellow”, and A Rush of Blood to the Head cemented its reach.

On Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, the group expanded its arrangements and topped the charts. It later brought in synthesizers and pop references on albums such as Music of the Spheres and Moon Music.
