Clare Torry

Clare Torry was born in London and began her career as a session singer in the 1960s. Her improvised vocal on “The Great Gig in the Sky”, from The Dark Side of the Moon, put her voice at the center of one of Pink Floyd’s best-known tracks. In 2005, a settlement with the band recognized her as co-writer of the piece, which is now also credited to Torry.
